Case studies

This case study provides a brief introduction to the use of polyethylene piping systems in mines across the world. It uses Australia, and the role of Fusion Plast in the distribution of spigot and electrofusion fittings, as a high-level case study and compares it to mining in South Africa.

AVK Fusion Indonesia supplied over 350,000 fittings into Jargas projects last year. This was an increase over the previous period despite a reduction in total Jargas house connections of 6%.

Fusion Italia recently won a project to supply more than 1,000 fittings for a new multi-use sports centre near Turin, Italy. This isn’t exceptional in its own right, however from placement of order to job completion was just three days, so an excellent and truly market leading service!

AVK Fusion Indonesia has supplied electrofusion fittings into each of the ten Jargas projects commissioned in 2020. It is the fifth consecutive year AVK Fusion Indonesia has supported Jargas and the first time it has won work on all projects. The goal of Jargas projects is to connect both commercial premises and domestic properties to the growing natural gas distribution network.

‘A long-term partnership’ - Fusion Italia’s distributors visit Fusion’s manufacturing, testing and logistics centre

AVK Fusion Indonesia recently inaugurated their latest campaign entitled “Archipelago Tour of AVK Fusion Indonesia”.

A team of senior managers, technical specialists and analysts from MiGas recently visited Fusion in Chesterfield to undertake a detailed and extensive Factory Acceptance Test (FAT).

An experienced team from AVK Fusion Indonesia recently visited PDAMs (local water infrastructure companies) in Surabaya and Banyuwangi to explain the many benefits of electrofusion jointing on polyethylene pipe networks. The visits, which also included interactive hands-on demonstrations of electrofusion jointing, are just one example of AVK Fusion Indonesia’s commitment to supporting PDAMs switching from traditional steel and PVC to polyethylene.

In August, Fusion Malaysia as acknowledged pioneers and market-leaders in PE jointing technology were invited to present ‘Electrofusion and Butt Fusion Jointing Process for PE Pipes Application’ at a seminar orgnised by the Myanmar Engineering Society.

PT. AVK Fusion Indonesia is responsible for marketing the Fusion range of electrofusion fittings across Indonesia, the world’s fourth largest country by population. David Clayton, Fusion Group’s Technical Manager, recently spent two weeks in Indonesia delivering best practice electrofusion and product training to the AVK team and some of its major clients.

Fusion Malaysia, a Fusion Group company, has won the contract to supply electrofusion fittings to the Bukit Tagar Sanitary Landfill project.
