Advanced Testing
Product quality, safety and compliance is at the heart of everything we do. Fusion were the first electrofusion fittings manufacturer to achieve BSI ISO/TS 29001 accreditation.
100% Traceability for Electrofusion Products
A lot traceability system is in place for all raw materials and critical components used in the manufacturing process of Fusion Group’s Electrofusion Fittings. Every electrofusion fitting is individually numbered with its own unique fitting number, giving full traceability of all raw materials and critical components.
The foundation upon which our reputation for quality is built is our world class testing programme centred on our test laboratory.
The Fusion test laboratory is equipped to undertake testing in accordance with all relevant international standards. Key areas of testing activity undertaken in the laboratory include:
- Raw materials assessment (OIT - oxidation induction time, MFR - melt flow rate, Density)
- New product development, Type Testing (TT) and Product Approvals
- Manufacturing Process Control Testing including Batch Release Testing (BRT), Process Verification Testing (PVT) and Audit Testing (AT)
Material parameters that are measured in the laboratory range from density, melt flow (MFR), thermal stability, resistance, temperature, compression, to tensile strength and more.
Fusion Group follows robust quality standards, not only do we offer testing from our test laboratory but there are also a number of inspection and testing procedures that take place on the shop floor itself. Patrol inspections are completed every shift by a member of the Quality Assurance team who is independent of the manufacturing process. This is also true for start-up and first-off inspections.
Test laboratory facilities include;
Ovens (up to +120oC), Freezers (down to -30oC) and Test Tanks (80oC and 20oC) amongst other specialised testing equipment.
